Russ Delahaye

Last week Russ Delahaye passed away leaving a void in many peoples' lives, ours included.  Our condolences to Daphne, Gareth and Sarah.

I simply can't write a light-hearted look at our lives after Russ' untimely death.   Russ came to Hong Kong at the same time as we did, 1974.  Our common interest was running - despite his unsuitable build as a runner, Russ could cover the ground surprisingly quickly.

Cayman Police - 6'7" in case you wondered

Russ spent some time in Bermuda as a copper before he went to Hong Kong.  I thought he might chuckle at this picture and the fact that the cops in Cayman all drive left-hand drive cars when the traffic drives as per the Brits, on the left.  I could also have a stab at guessing what his comments would be although I can't print them.  Good on 'yer Russ and, like everyone who knew you, we miss you buddy.

Carpe Diem,

Doreen, Bridget and Jeremy

  3. On behalf of all from Bermuda who knew Russ (and there are still many of us around, despite the fact that he left Bermuda nearly 40 years ago!), deepest condolences to Daphne, Gareth and Sarah on the loss of a husband, father, and all-round decent bloke.
